Charlie Reid is a Trinidadian actor, painter, singer and writer based in New York City.
As an actor, he recently appeared in John Patrick Shanley’s Five Steps To Transcendence at North Fork Arts Center, and originated the role of J.J. Winchester in Jessica Provenz’s True Art at Dorset Theatre Festival (opposite Jayne Atkinson) and at Westport Country Playhouse as part of their Script in Hand series.
Other theatre highlights include: Gemini (Off-Broadway revival at Theatre Row), See You (US premiere at The New Ohio Theatre) and Bent (OUT/PLAY NYC).
In Trinidad, Charlie worked under the late Trinidadian theatre luminary Raymond Choo Kong on Mr. Choo Kong’s productions of It Runs in The Family and Jesus Christ Superstar, among others, while studying under Kirk Baltz (Reservoir Dogs, Natural Born Killers, Dances with Wolves) and Rafael J. Noble (Beginners, Grey’s Anatomy).
As a painter, his pieces were recently exhibited at Buunni Coffee Pinehurst and remain commission-based.
